| Gaul |
Eriq LaSalle - 9.7%
Val Kilmer - 6.5%
Keanu Reeves - 6.5%
Gaul was one of those characters that got a wide variety of nominations, from Chris Rock to Jon Bon Jovi. The Aiel are a tricky bunch, because you only want to cast bad-asses. And no, I don't care what their skin colour happens to be.
|
John Cusack
Well, my nick is StoneDog, so I wanted to cast my favourite actor in the role of my avatar, Gaul. Cusack has never disappointed me in all the films he's starred in, and he's a kickboxing fool, so you know he could whup ass if he needed to.

| Rhuarc |
Rutger Hauer - 17.1%
Liam Neeson - 9.8%
Mel Gibson - 7.3%
Rutger Hauer, the hawk-like character actor who has a commanding presence and haunted eyes. He was my choice in the previous cast list, and I guess he made enough of an impression for voters to continue the trend.
|
Samuel L. Jackson
I have to go with the baddest mofo in Hollywood. I mean, the guy is Shaft. He's got the age, he's got the commanding screen presence, he's got the authority. And he's a Jedi.

| Bael |
Laurence Fishburne - 18.8%
Antonio Banderas - 12.5%
Dylan McDermott - 12.5%
Laurence Fishburne is a bad-ass, as anyone who saw the Matrix can tell you. I'm a little surprised to see Dylan McDermott's name pop up, though. I don't think that guy could kick his own ass.
|
Laurence Fishburne
Larry's my boy, he's got it all, attitude, poise, grace, and a stony glare that knocks you back into your seat. He can keep his pills in his pocket, though. |
 |
| Bain |
Ashley Judd - 18.2%
Rya Kihlstedt - 9.1%
Boy, it took me a while to find out who the Light Rya Kihlstedt is; I wonder if the people who voted for her did so just to see if I was paying attention. :) (She was in 'Deep Impact' and 'Home Alone 3', and is married to former 'Ally McBeal' actor Gil Bellows)
|
Ashley Judd
Ashley's as good a pick now as she was 18 months ago, so I see no reason to change my mind. She's becoming quite the box-office draw lately, too.
|
 |
| Chiad |
Carrie-Anne Moss - 10.0%
Cameron Diaz - 10.0%
Renee O'Connor - 10.0% (tie)
Three-way tie here, as there was no obvious choice for the voters. Someone really went out on a limb and gave Meg Ryan a vote here. Hey, I love Meg Ryan too, but does anyone think she would look right with a spear in her hands?
|
Carrie-Anne Moss
'The Matrix' proved that women can kick ass in cyberspace, too. (And look damn good while doing it, too) The question is, can we get away with dressing Chiad in a full-body leather outfit?
|
 |
| Sulin |
Linda Hamilton - 21.4%
Nana Visitor - 7.1%
Laura Innes - 7.1%
Actually, I think Sulin is one of the more difficult casting challenges of the whole list. Jordan is never really specific as to Sulin's age, but you get the sense that she's middle-aged at least, and prone to cutting glares. Hamilton is a good pick.
|
Victoria Principal
How's this for an off-the-wall casting choice? See, I was trying to think of middle-aged actresses who are in great shape, but are capable of holding their own against impossible odds. Principal plays the matriarch in the new NBC prime-time soap, 'Titans', and that seemed like a decent qualification. |
 |
| Amys |
Roma Downey - 23.8%
Emma Thompson - 9.5%
Kristin Scott Thomas - 9.5%
She plays a wise angel on TV, and Roma Downey was the clear favourite among the voters, beating out a couple of respected British actresses. Is it just me, or does Roma look just like Enya? Has it ever been proven that they aren't the same person? Just asking...
|
Annette Bening
I might be wrong, but I think Amys is halfway between Bair and Melaine in terms of age, which would make Annette Bening an appropriate age. As well, she tamed Warren Beatty, and you have to give props to any woman who could accomplish that.
|
 |
| Bair |
Vanessa Redgrave - 57.1%
Debbie Reynolds - 7.1%
Julie Andrews - 7.1%
Vanessa Redgrave's landslide victory is an indication of her remarkable suitability for this role. I can't imagine anyone else in the part, and it looks like I'm not the only one who feels this way.
|
Vanessa Redgrave
You know, a lot of my time in creating these pages is spent finding pictures for the actors and actresses. It seems like if the celebrity is over the age of 30, there's nothing on the Web for them. I think I was lucky to find a decent picture of Vanessa. Somebody should get on this problem ASAP. |
 |
| Melaine |
Nicole Kidman - 11.8%
Alex Kingston - 11.8%
Alyson Hannigan - 11.8% (tie)
This was a widely split vote, with all sorts of nominations, some of them reasonable, others not so... Melaine is in her mid-20's and sun-haired, which I take to mean blonde. I love Alyson Hannigan, but she's not blonde. Kingston and Kidman are in their late 30's.
|
Drew Barrymore
I flipped through a lot of choices before finally settling on Barrymore, who has the kind of exuberant earthiness that Melaine has in spades (and is always trying to rein in). Drew's eyes also have a weighing, worldly quality that would be perfect for a burgeoning Wise One.

Judi Dench - 87.0%
Olympia Dukakis - 4.3%
Vanessa Redgrave - 4.3%
Wow. Talk about dominating the vote. |
Judi Dench
I think the key to her success is that she throws up the cold, forbidding authority look, and then lets you see the human underneath. I can easily see her cracking the whip at a Wise Ones gathering.
