This time, Ravriem has come up with an incredible poem based on the WOT glossary. The Glossary PoemThe Glossary, innocent seeming, with facts and fallacy is silently teeming. Devoted readers with a thirst of knowledge, read the pages as if required for college. So now with a bit of luck and a pinch of skill, I'll run through the Glossary till you've had your fill. Heran Adan a governor of Baerlon we never mention, and Aes Sedai in constant contention. Scheming behind the scenes you see, to shape the Age Lace the way it should be. The Age of Legends with wonders untold, and incredible heroes astoundingly bold. Agelmar is a lord that at Fal Dara holds the line, three running red foxes are his sign. The Aiel with veils were death personified, when they crossed the Dragonwall because of Laman's Pride. They came from a land known as the Aiel Waste, and when their job was done they returned with haste. Ajah is the name of a group of Sedai, joint by purpose, which a color will signify. Al Ellisande!, For the Rose of the Sun! While on Aldieb, the West Wind, the spring rains run. Nynaeve al'Meara, a young Wisdom by trade. Rand al'Thor for whom a destiny has been laid. Egwene al'Vere an innkeeper's daughter, yet possessing some skills which the Wisdom has taught her. The Amyrlin Seat, both a person and throne, before which even a king would lay prone. Andor an ideal country where the Two Rivers lie, the white lion on a field of red still flies high. Angreal are treasures of the past hard to find, which grant the user power that boggles the mind. Arafel is a Borderland that with its might opposes, the Blight, and its flag is three white roses. Aram a handsome man of the Tuatha'an. Avendesora a Tree of Life long thought gone. Perrin Aybara is a strong and patient apprentice, never knowing of a hidden menace, named Ba'alzamon, Heart of the Dark, man without pity. Baerlon is a town though some call it a city. Doral Barran is merely a name, nothing more, a Wisdom of Edmond's Field that came before. Bel Tine is a spring festival that comes every year which everyone celebrates with food and good cheer. A biteme is a biting insect hard to spot. The Black Ajah don't exist, or at least, should not. Blasted Lands surround Shayol Ghul, where none would venture, save perhaps a fool. The Blight is a shortened name for a cursed land, where Trollocs frolic and Fades command. The Blue Ajah seek quests to complete for the Light, while the Borderlands Saldaea, Arafel, Kandor, and Shienar fight the good fight. Dain Bornhald is a Child of the Light and will be a madman someday, His father Geofram (Bornhald) is his better in every way. The breaking of the world was one hell of a show, and what the world used to look like no one may know. Gareth Bryne, Prince of the Sword for that Queen so refined. Jaret Byar, Whitecloak and fanatic, badly needs to unwind. Caemlyn is a great city, akin to Camelot readers often say. Cairhein embroiled in the Great Game which the nobles all play. Cry 'Carai an Caldazar' for the battle that is yet to be won, and Carai an Ellisande "For the honor of the Rose of the Sun"! Matrim Cauthon is a trickster, though he has a good heart, even if he got in trouble for taking a clock apart. To channel is to control the One Power or the act of doing so. Jain Charin is the real name of Farstrider, or did you already know? The Children of the Light is a militant group fighting the Dark, though the zealots are confused and oft miss the mark. The Covenant of the Ten Nations was a union of many a great land, and while it was powerful, against the trollocs it could'nt stand. Cuendillar isn't pronunced at all like its spelt, yet it sucks up the Power and ne'er will melt. Lord Galadedrid Damodred is the righteous one who never does wrong, often thought to be the sacrificial lamb and not destined to live long. Prince Taringail Damodred is father of Gawyn and Elayne, and he has since disappeared, which no one can explain. The Dark One is a name both hated and feared by most, the antithesis of the Creator, and commander of a fell host. Naming the Dark One is said to bring about bad luck, for saying Shai'tan will ensure that by his evil you're struck. Darkfriends are those who believe the Father of Lies, that when he is freed they never shall die. Daughter-heir is a title of the heir to the throne, of the land of Andor, when the old Queen is gone. Dhai'mon and Dha-vol are two Trolloc tribes that are known, often by their badges, as by Lan we were shown. Dejevik K'shar means "The Dying Ground" in Trolloc speech, for when in the Aiel Waste safety for them is far out of reach. Bayle Domon is the good-hearted captain of the Spray. 'The Dragon' was the name of Telamon in his day. False Dragons are those who seek a title not theirs, while a Dragon's Fang on your door is sure to bring stares. Dreadlords are the channelers and commanders of the Dark Hordes . King Easar of House Togita rules Shienar and leads the swords. Elaida is a red Sedai and advisor to a Queen. Elayne is Daughter-Heir, and we know what THAT means, she sticks her nose in the air and thinks she's so grand. Else Grinwell is a farmer's daughter besotted with Rand. The Eyeless are Myddraal, also known as a Fade, Padan Fain is a darkfriend peddler that was painfully remade. Far Dareis Mai are the "Maidens of the Spear", a woman's only society that knows no fear. Jain Farstrider is a traveler of distant lands, with a pretty story to tell, while the Father of Lies works diligently to make our lives a hell. First Prince of the Sword is a Queen's brother, leader of men. While a fist is a hundred or so Trollocs, led by their eyeless kin. The five powers of Spirit, Air, Fire, Water, and Earth, are the threads of the Power and give flights of imagination birth. The Flame of Tar Valon is a symbol of a flame, while the Forsaken are scorned by their common name. Galad I'm quite sure has been mentioned before, so we'll move on to Gawyn, Elayne's brother and protector. Gentling removes the ability to channel from a man. A gleeman is an imitation bard getting what attention he can. The Great Blight is just another name for that corrupted northern land, where horrors roam that are far worse than a roving Trolloc band. The Great Hunt of the Horn would take many days to recite, and the Great Lord of the Dark is the name darkfriends whisper in the night. The Great Pattern is the Age Lace by a new name, weaving a complex pattern though the cycles stay the same. The Great Serpent is a symbol of eternity and time. The making of the Halfman was in itself a crime, that led to Artur Hawkwing who fought back the screaming beasts. Heartfang and Heartsbane are the two names for the Dark One perhaps used the least. Heartstone absorbs any force and grows that much stronger. With the Horn of Valere, the grave is a barrier no longer. The Hundred Companions launched the final strike that sealed the Bore. Illian is both a country and a city perched on the shore. Lord Ingtar of House Shinowa is a man of honor and a terror in a fight, while Kandor is a Borderland country that holds back the Blight. Hyam Kinch is a farmer met on a road that gave our boys a lift, Ko'bal are one of the tribes that attacked Edmond's Field, deadly and swift. The Lace of Ages is the Great Pattern, just by another name, though the Ages are similar, the complex weaving is never the same. al'Lan Mandragoran is a Warder, and a deadly fighter with his blade. Leafblighter seeks to destroy all that has or will be made. A league is equal to four miles, it's a measurement you know. Lord Luc of House Mantear is Tigraine's brother and into the blight he did go, why did he leave and where could he have gone? Perhaps a Lurk might know, the Myrddraal could still be chewing his bone. Elyas Machera can speak with the wolves and is more than he seems, Mahdi is a leader of a Tuatha'an caravan and Seeker of a dream. Malkier was a proud nation consumed by the Blight, yet its sign is still known, a golden crane in flight. Mandarb is Lan's horse, but the word means blade. Manetheren was city and nation destroyed, its memory fades. Maradon is the capital city of Saldaea where the women are strong. Thom Merrilin is a gleeman that can dazzle with tricks or a song. A mile measures distance, it's equal to one thousand spans. While Min is a strange young woman that dresses as a man. Moiraine is a blue Sedai that seems hellbent on a quest. While Morgase rules from the Throne of Andor and knows no rest. Myrddraal are twisted offspring of Trollocs with secrets, yet no eyes. One that uses the One Power without knowledge swiftly dies. The Pattern of an Age are the lives of men woven into reality's substance. The Questioners are avid truth seekers that need a bit of temperance. The Red Ajah are Sedai that hunt male channelers and scorn Warders. Sa'angreal makes a channeler powerful indeed, and breaks all limits or borders. Saidar and Saidin are two sides of the same coin, it's true, the male and female half of the Power which create the One Power from two. Saldaea is a Borderland where the women are fierce as can be, and the Sea Folk are mysterious people that thrive on the sea. The Second Covenant refers to the Covenent of the Ten Nations. Shadar Logoth is an example of what happens when people succumb to temptations, to become as hateful and mean as those that they fight. Shadowman is another name for a Myrddraal, is there no end to them? LIGHT! Shai'tan is the true name of the Dark One and is not to be spoken. Shayol Ghul is his abode where the very earth seems broken. The Shepherd of the Night broods there where the barrier thins. Sheriam is a Blue in charge of Novices that punishes them for their sins. The sign of a black hawk represents Shienar, a Borderland. A shoufa is a head garment of an Aiel the color of rock or sand. Sightburner is a name for the Dark One used once in awhile. A span is two paces, a thousand spans to the mile. The Spine of the World seperates the Aiel Waste from the west. A stedding is a place where the Ogier rest, and the Power can't be felt by channelers inside. The Stone of Tear has stood for years and is cloaked in pride. Sunday is a feastday and festival that all may enjoy. Tabac is a weed dried and cured, which pipes might employ. Martyn Tallanvor is a Guardsman Lieutenant that serves Morgase the Queen. Ta'maral'ailen is the Old Tongue, "Web of Destiny" is what it means. Hawkwing the Unifier's full name is Artur Paendrag Tanreall, Tar Valon is the seat of Aes Sedai power where they watch kingdoms rise and fall. Ta'averen twist fate and affect other threads, though they form a Web of Destiny, in a way they are led. Tear is a sea port and a well-established city. Lews Therin Telamon is the Dragon, an object of hatred or pity. Thakan'dar is the fog-shrouded valley below Shayol Ghul, where the making of weapons is merciless and cruel. Tigraine was Daughter-Heir to Andor but she disappeared without a trace. The Time of Madness was a horror that changed the world's face. Tuatha'an are also known as the Tinkers and considered a suspicious lot. They follow the Way of the Leaf, avoiding people more often than not. The Trolloc Wars ruined many nations, killing great leaders by the score. Trollocs are twisted half-human creatures, feeding on blood and gore. The True Source drives the Universe, which turns the Great Wheel. Called the One Power at first, now it's not...what's the deal? Tuatha'an wander the land in search of a song, but they're hated. Every name that they go by starts with a 'T', perhaps it's fated? The Village Council solve problems in the village, they 'put out the fires'. The War of the Hundred years tore up the mighty Artur's Empire. The War of the Shadow awakened people's fears, greater than before, the art of fighting was brought back to life once more. A Warder is a warrior with special gifts given to him by a special link, he can heal quickly, sense the taint, and go a long while without food or drink. The Web of Destiny is the weaving of a great change focused on just a few. The Wheel of Time has seven spokes, each spoke an Age thought either old or new. Depending on how you look at the Wheel, you are in the past, the present, or future. A Sister from the White Ajah depends on logic, and only rational answers will suit her. The White Tower is the palace of the Amrylin Seat, where the Sedai gather together. Whitecloaks is a derogatory name given to the fanatics that think they are everyone's better. The Wisdom is a woman chosen for both her knowledge and skill, and appointed for life. The Women's Circle are the women elected by a village and are almost always in strife, with the Village Council, or as they say, that wool-headed group of men.
